How to change IP address while playing online games?

What is a free way to change, hide, or recycle your IP address when playing online PC games?

Can you go through Start%26gt;Run%26gt;cmd%26gt;ipconfig%26gt; and the what? How to change IP address while playing online games?
Not sure why you'd want to change it while actively playing a game. You'll likely loose your connection to the server when you do this, but here it is anyway...

Start%26gt;Run%26gt;cmd%26gt;ipconfig /release

Wait for that to complete and then

Start%26gt;Run%26gt;cmd%26gt;ipconfig /renew

That won't guarantee that you'll get a new IP, mind you, but you'll release it and the DHCP server will give you another one... but unless the old IP has been taken by something else, it will likely just give it back to you.

Like I said, though, when you release the IP address, you'll loose the connection with your router/modem and likely any connection to open online games. Also, if you connect through a router, the IP address it gets (the real IP address your home network shows to the world) won't change. You'll need to work through your router or just reboot your modem in order to get it to change...

Good luck...
