Iam residing in chennai for 2 yrs and need to change my address in passport to chennai address. I want to how long will it take for changing address in passport. Like will they do it the same day or will give after weeks/months?
Also I want to know how long will it take to adding spouse name in passport? same day or weeks/months

Addition of your wife's name can be done the same day. Please take your marriage certificate along with the passports. I had done this for myself.
Address change may need police verification and this may take time.

Amit is right ,you can change it at the time of renewal because you will have to again submit all the papers that is address proof etc.And it will take at least 30-45 days for the change as all police verification etc will have to be done.

if you apply to change starting of the week you can get soon. but it may be delay when you submit in the weekends
